Although regularly repeated, OF&H was first shown on BBC Television in 1981 and ran for seven series until 1991. Occasional Christmas specials were made until 2003.
Set in Peckham, OF&H tells the story of fast-talking market trader Derek ‘Del Boy’ Trotter, his dipstick brother Rodney and their Grandad (and later Uncle Albert). Del Boy comes up with many get rich quick schemes that always seem doomed for failure. Writer John Sullivan crafted a rich, complex set of supporting characters including dopey roadsweeper Trigger, used car salesman Boycie and his wife ‘Marleeeene’, lorry driver Denzil, and noisy Mickey Pearce.
